Jennifer Henius, LCSW, is a nationally recognized caregiver advocate, licensed clinical social worker, trauma-informed yoga teacher, and the founder of Caregiver Whole Health™ and Yoga4Caregivers™. With over two decades of experience in social work within healthcare, Jennifer has dedicated her career to empowering caregivers and promoting a holistic approach to health and well-being.

Her passion for caregiver well-being is rooted in her own experience as a family caregiver. She has spent more than 20 years supporting Veterans and their families, including serving on the leadership team of the VA’s pioneering Caregiver Support Program. Through this work, Jennifer has developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges caregivers face.

Jennifer’s innovative approach bridges the gap between caregiving, mental health, and holistic wellness. She creates transformative resources designed to help family caregivers thrive in their roles and beyond.

Jennifer founded Caregiver Whole Health™ to provide caregivers with the tools, resources, and community they need to prioritize their health and well-being. Drawing from her expertise in social work, trauma-informed care, and wellness, she developed groundbreaking programs that integrate evidence-based practices like mindfulness, gentle yoga, and stress management techniques into accessible, caregiver-centered services.

As the creator of the Caregiver Circle of Well-Being™, Jennifer reimagined the VA’s Whole Health model to meet the unique needs of all family caregivers, focusing on sustainable caregiving and healthy aging. Her work has been instrumental in advancing the conversation about caregiver health as a public health priority.

Expanding Leadership Beyond Business


Jennifer’s leadership and advocacy extend far beyond Caregiver Whole Health™, reflecting her dedication to advancing caregiver wellness and championing equity across diverse communities.

  • Educator and Mentor: During the pandemic, Jennifer returned to her alma mater, the University of South Florida, School of Social Work, to teach a course on Health and Well-being to our next generation of leaders. She continues to mentor social workers, providing guidance on managing burnout and exploring innovative, non-traditional career paths in the field.

  • Advisor and Advocate: As Senior Advisor to former VA Secretary Dr. David Shulkin's nonprofit, Policy Vets, Jennifer champions initiatives that enhance the wellness of military and Veteran caregivers, advocating for policies and practices that address their unique challenges.

    Jennifer is also the Co-founder of the LGBTQ Caregiver Center, alongside Zander Keig, LCSW, where she raises awareness of the unique needs of LGBTQ caregivers and those caring for LGBTQ+ individuals and provides cultural competency training. Her advocacy extends to supporting key caregiver initiatives led by organizations such as Caregiving.com, the National Caregiver Alliance, and the Military Special Operations Family Wellness Advisory Board, reinforcing her commitment to creating inclusive, trauma-informed support systems.

  • Author and Speaker: A respected keynote speaker, trainer, and thought leader, Jennifer delivers impactful presentations on topics such as trauma-informed leadership, caregiver wellness, and whole-person health. Her engaging style empowers professionals across industries to adopt these principles and foster healthier workplaces, communities, and caregiver support systems.
